Building deep learning & engagement with Minecraft

Minecraft: Education Edition is an open world game that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem solving in an immersive environment where the only limit is the imagination. During this 1-day Teacher Academy, receive an overview of Minecraft: Education Edition and learn to play the game, and create curriculum and classroom resources to take back to any learning environment.
Discover the basics of game-based learning using Minecraft: Education Edition including:
- How to get started,
- What is possible,
- How to play, and
- Where to begin with any learner.
Leave feeling ready to explore how Minecraft: Education Edition allows learners to demonstrate their learning in the game while meeting curriculum standards!
Registration is $99 with lunch and parking fees included. Participants will earn 6 CE hours, or can opt to earn one graduate workshop credit hour with a tuition fee of $162 and completion of additional online tutorials and an assignment after the one-day in-person workshop.
Minecraft: Education Edition can be used as a free trial edition if your school system does not currently have a license. The trial is limited by the number of logins (25 for teachers with an Office 365 Education account and 10 for all other users) before a paid license is required to continue playing.
About your instructor
Robert Lane has spent the last 25 years teaching in public schools where he has integrated technology into his classroom curriculum with a focus on coding and programming as essential literacies. Robert also trains teachers in a variety of STEM-related topics. His passion is integrating computer science into the classroom.
